In the troupe's television series and stage shows, he portrays several popular recurring characters, such as the King of Empty Promises, Sir Simon Milligan, and Jerry Sizzler. McDonald went on to appear in a variety of films and television shows, including Lilo & Stitch, “Ellen,” “That '70s Show,” “Seinfeld,” “Friends,” “NewsRadio,” “MADtv,” “Arrested Development." In 2006, "Sketch with Kevin McDonald" won a Canadian Comedy Award (Best Taped Live Performance - The Minnesota Wrecking Crew). ***** DAY ONE: SKETCH WRITING AND EDITINGSaturday, November 23; 10am - 5:30pm This workshop begins with the basics of writing and editing sketch comedy using the Kids in the Hall method. Attendees will learn how to build out and make changes to their existing sketches with an emphasis on allowing them to think naturally about the interplay between performance and writing. We ask that each participant bring a laptop and one script for a comedy sketch that they've previously written and want to improve. Your scripts will be workshopped along with Kevin and the rest of the group throughout the day, with enough time for implementing suggested edits and rewrites. REQUIRED ITEMS: Laptop Copies of a written comedy sketchPlease bring one copy for each character in the script plus two additional copies. For example, if you have FOUR characters in your sketch, please bring SIX copies of the script. ***** DAY TWO: SKETCH ACTING & PRODUCTIONSunday, November 24; 10am - 5:30pm On day 2, the class will rehearse and produce a live sketch show using selected scripts from the Saturday workshop. Every participant will participate in collectively re-writing, rehearsing, and working on all the chosen sketches, with the goal of everyone being in one or more sketches. This will culminate in a special performance during a Sunday night show. ***** A NOTE FROM THE INSTRUCTOR... An understanding of the rules & basics of improv is encouraged, since that is the method by which we'll be devising our sketches. Kevin also apologizes, in advance, for all the Kids in the Hall anecdotes he'll pepper throughout the day.    ______________________________________   STATION THEATER1230 Houston Avenue, Houston, TX 77007StationTheater.com | info@stationtheater.com | 832.786.0413 Street parking is available on Dart Street or in the lot in front of the former Revolution Dojo next door along Houston Ave. Do not park in the lot behind R-Bar as you may be towed.
